Everyday Routine

We accept the dish sponge as a useful tool for rinsing our dishes. Beyond that, it is rarely appreciated for its fascinating visual appearance of thousand little cells which are the reason for the sponges absorptive power, for its unique haptic or its plasticity and flexibility. In the daily interplay between our hands and the dish sponge we focus on the clean result. But breaking through this superficial contemplation it can be revealed what lies in this perfected, subconscious routine. Inner motion sequences, rhythms and geometries arise while cleaning the dishes – but usually remain unnoticed. Using varnish, I found a way to visualize parts of this inner patterns. The result can be considered as aesthetics of the daily life.
