Stena is a hand-blown glass sculpture playing
with the thermal function of soapstone.
The thermal function of the stone allows the sculpture to be used as a carafe. The perfectly fitting contact surfaces of the stone and glass transmit coldness. A chilled drink is kept cold on the, before use frozen stone. The individual shape of the sculpture arises during glass blowing, when the fluid glass nestles around the angular contours of the natural piece of stone. Every piece is unique and therefore only exists once.
