Juliana primarily works with glass, porcelain and stoneware, creating all pieces by hand with great attention to detail. Each work is a unique, handcrafted object, shaped through a slow and deliberate process. Every piece is hand-formed, with each lamella individually modeled and attached. After shaping, the work dries for one to two weeks before it can be fired. Following the first firing, a transparent glaze may be applied where needed, and the object is then fired once more to achieve its final form. All glass components are produced in collaboration with a glassmaker in Coswig, reflecting Juliana’s commitment to craftsmanship and material integrity. Juliana works in small editions and every piece is unique.
